We are excited to announce that the UCI Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences (ICS) and the UCI School of Medicine along with the ICS Student Council are planning the first ever Med AppJam, an event to be held this Fall 2012.

The AppJam is a week long tournament where teams create a fully functional mobile app. Apps are judged on various criteria and the top teams teams are awarded prizes and recognition. You can find more information about prior AppJams HERE
While Android has been the development platform for AppJams in the past, this will be the first time that an ICS Student Council AppJam will involve iOS-only development. This leads to a natural partnership with the School of Medicine with our adoption of iPads through the iMedEd initiative. In addition, we are breaking the weeklong AppJam tradition and extending the competition to 10 days.

Go To TopAs part of the preparations for this event, we would like to begin a list of student generated medical app ideas to provide to the development teams. Has there been an app that you felt would help you in your studies or during your time on the wards? The Med AppJam would be a great opportunity to get these apps developed and available for all of our students/faculty to use. If you have an app idea to share, please email them to Dr. Julie Youm
